Freeware

Freeware what is freeware i here you say well its software that is free yep that's right totally free often it will be working versions of popular shareware which doesn't have all the features of the shareware version , this can sometimes be an advantage as too many options etc can be troublesome , this is not to say you shouldn't buy good software of course you should all program writers should be supported especially seen as my Mate Den writes software but sometimes you need a program you wont use very often and it seems a shame spend out lots of money for something you will use only a few times a year etc

There are many good resources on the internet for good freeware which are listed below but i have created a few categories and included a few of my favourite programmes that i currently use

Sick of spam in your email well one of the best spam programs i have used is Mail Washer it allows you to check your email that is on the server and can check the senders against spam lists using spamcop and other such list i t can delete and send a bounce message to the senders of the spam thereby letting the offenders think your email address is invalid www.mailwasher.net

Notepad Xp is a text editor similar to the windows notepad but with lots more features , it is able to edit more than simple text and can be used on rich text and word format , it also great to use along with your html editor and uses lots less system resources than standard office programs http://www.acsoftware.org

ICQ is still one of the best instant messengers and can do lots of stuff including checking pop mail and even sending SMS messages to your mobile phone , it also plugs in to Outlook and is a valuable tool although it does seem to use a lot of the system resources but there are several versions including a lite version which is easier to use www.icq.com

Microsoft Messenger is now also one of best instant messengers too and because its a microsoft product it works in a lot of situations including with proxies etc http://messenger.msn.com/

Opera is a free browser similar to windows explorer but reckoned to be much fast to load and use

FrontPage Addins

The best add ins for front page are from jimco they have lots of extra features available totally free for download including underline hyperlink remover, hotspot tool tips , multipage background , no FrontPage meta etc and many many more superb stuff

A new site i haven't seen before has some cool add ons including a number of free automated java scripts and a poll feature although you do have to pay a small fee for the poll http://www.extrafrontpage.com
